Tottenham Negotiates Double Transfer for Savinho and Marmoush
Tottenham are pushing ahead with an ambitious double move for Manchester City forwards Savinho and Omar Marmoush, with negotiations described as progressing but not yet at the finish line.
Sources have indicated to BBC Sport that discussions between the clubs are active and advancing, though no agreement on fees or structure has been finalised.
De Zerbi Turns to Attack After Midfield Rebuild
Spurs’ interest in Brazilian winger Savinho is not new. The London club tried to lure the 22-year-old in 2025, only to see him stay put at Etihad Stadium. That decision has not paid off for the player.
Savinho, who arrived from Troyes in 2024 for £30m, started just seven Premier League games last season. Limited minutes have shifted his stance. He is now minded to leave City in search of a bigger role.
Marmoush’s story is different, but the conclusion may be the same. Signed from Frankfurt in 2025 for £59m, the 27-year-old slipped down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola in the 2025-26 campaign. Even so, he still produced eight goals in 36 appearances across all competitions – solid output for a player out of favour.
City’s exact valuation of the pair remains under wraps, but the club is expected to demand significant profit on both deals.
Roberto De Zerbi has already torn into Tottenham’s midfield this summer. Mateus Fernandes has arrived from West Ham United and Sandro Tonali from Newcastle, the duo costing a combined £185m. The message is clear: the spine has been addressed.
But the table does not lie. Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League last season and scored just 48 goals in 38 games. De Zerbi has repeatedly underlined the need for more firepower. That is where Savinho and Marmoush come in – one a direct, creative wide threat, the other a versatile forward with a proven scoring touch.
Gakpo Interest Complicates the Numbers
Tottenham’s recruitment drive up front does not stop there. The club remain keen on Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo, but the financial reality bites. Landing the Netherlands international on top of deals for Marmoush and Savinho would stretch even a bullish transfer budget.
Any move for Gakpo is likely to depend on how negotiations with City unfold – and what sort of payment structure Spurs can agree for the two forwards currently on the table.
City, for their part, are already deep into a summer of change. Captain Rodri has gone, as have midfielder Tijjani Reijnders and second-choice goalkeeper James Trafford. The champions are trimming and reshaping, cashing in where they can.
Now the question is whether Tottenham can turn promising talks into signatures – and whether Savinho and Marmoush are the pair to drag De Zerbi’s side away from the bottom end of the table and back towards the fight they believe they belong in.
