Manchester United Target Carlos Baleba in Midfield Revamp

Manchester United are pushing hard for a third midfield signing of the summer, with a £60m offer on the table for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba and growing confidence that the deal ends with the 22-year-old at Old Trafford.

United have followed the Cameroon international closely and first moved for him last summer, when Brighton slapped a price tag in excess of £100m on their emerging midfielder. A difficult year has shifted the landscape. United now believe they have found a far more palatable number and are prepared to lift their bid by a further £5m to get it over the line.

If Brighton agree, Baleba would join a revamped United engine room and arrive with the expectation of playing a central role rather than simply padding out the squad.

Liverpool open door to Curtis Jones exit

At Anfield, Liverpool are deep in talks with Inter Milan over Curtis Jones, with the Italian champions stepping up their pursuit of the midfielder.

No agreement is in place yet, but the conversation is active and serious. Inter have revived their interest and Liverpool are understood to be open to a sale if the price lands around €35m (£30m). That figure would take a homegrown player from Merseyside to San Siro and give Liverpool extra room to reshape their own squad.

Their attacking plans are already taking shape. Liverpool remain keen on Bradley Barcola after shelving a move for his PSG team-mate Ibrahim Mbaye, shifting their focus to the Lyon academy product as they look to add another wide option.

Arsenal strike £51m deal for Ezri Konsa

Arsenal, still smarting from the defensive blows of last season, have moved decisively. The club have agreed a deal worth around £51m with Aston Villa for Ezri Konsa, handing Mikel Arteta a significant reinforcement on the right side of his back line.

Arteta wanted cover and competition after William Saliba’s serious injury exposed the fragility of his defensive options, even with Jurrien Timber returning to fitness. A right-sided defender was ring‑fenced as a priority as Arsenal gear up to defend their Premier League title.

Konsa, 28, is expected to compete with Cristhian Mosquera as the main deputy for Saliba alongside Gabriel Magalhaes. His first assignment could be a sharp one: a possible debut against his former club Aston Villa next week, in a fixture that would immediately test Arsenal’s new defensive balance.

Tottenham circle Marmoush and Savinho in attacking shake-up

Across north London, Tottenham are eyeing a double swoop as Roberto De Zerbi pushes for more firepower. Spurs retain a long-standing interest in Savinho and are now also looking closely at Omar Marmoush, with both players on the club’s attacking shortlist.

Savinho has been on Tottenham’s radar for some time. They weighed up a £50m move for the Brazilian winger last summer and his name has never really left the recruitment meetings.

Now Marmoush has entered the frame as well. De Zerbi wants to sharpen a forward line that laboured through a season in which Spurs only just avoided relegation. The Italian is driving an expensive overhaul, and landing two dynamic forwards from Manchester City would send a clear signal that Tottenham intend to attack their way out of trouble rather than tiptoe away from it.
