Ravens Suffer 3-0 Defeat Against Queen's in Kingston

Kingston, ON – For 45 minutes, Carleton looked in control. By the end of 90, they were staring at a 3-0 defeat and wondering how it had unraveled so fast.

The Ravens flew out of the blocks, carving out early chances and pinning Queen's back. Xavier-Etienne Patry asked the first question of the Gaels’ back line, followed in quick succession by efforts from Damiano Totten and Marek Achadinha. Carleton’s pressure set the tone, their front line buzzing around the Queen's penalty area.

Then the match settled.

Carleton dictated the tempo for the rest of the opening half, keeping the Gaels quiet and, crucially, without a single shot attempt. The Ravens went into the break with control, if not a lead, and every sign that the breakthrough would be theirs.

Instead, the second half flipped the script.

Not long after the restart, the turning point arrived. Luke Harrop was whistled for a foul inside the box, handing Queen's a lifeline from the spot. Damola Akanni stepped up and buried the penalty, and suddenly the Ravens were chasing a game they had largely managed.

The goal rattled Carleton, and Queen's pounced.

In a stunning burst, Isaac Molouba and Sebastian Aguade struck less than a minute apart. One goal became three in a blink, the Gaels transforming a tight contest into a commanding 3-0 lead before the Ravens could regroup.

Carleton tried to claw something back in the closing stages. Achadinha rose well for a late header, only to see it come to nothing. Adrijan Vrankovic found a chance of his own, but the finish wouldn’t follow, mirroring the Ravens’ night: promising positions, no reward.

The final whistle left Carleton with a harsh lesson from a game they had once controlled.

They won’t have long to dwell on it. The Ravens are back on the road Sunday at 4:00 p.m., away to Ontario Tech, needing a response.
