Injury Blow for Napoli: Spinazzola Out vs Fiorentina

Napoli’s treatment room is filling up again, and this time Leonardo Spinazzola is the latest name on the list.

The club confirmed on Friday that the experienced full-back did not train with the rest of the squad after suffering a mild strain to the hamstring of his right thigh. The issue, while not serious, is enough to rule him out of Sunday’s away match against Fiorentina.

Kick-off in Florence is set for 12:30 CET (11:30 BST), but Spinazzola won’t be on the team sheet. Multiple Italian outlets, including Il Mattino and Sky, report that the Italy international will not be available for the clash at the Franchi.

The setback comes just as Napoli were trying to rebuild momentum. They snapped a three-game losing streak across all competitions last weekend with a tight 1-0 win over Bologna at the Stadio Maradona, a result that offered some breathing space and a hint of stability. Now the squad depth is about to be tested again.

The concerns don’t stop with Spinazzola. Frank Zambo Anguissa is still training on his own, Napoli confirmed, leaving him highly unlikely to feature on Sunday as well. For a side that leans heavily on his physical presence and ball-winning in midfield, that’s another significant absence.

  • Luca Marianucci
  • Scott McTominay
  • Giovane
  • Alex Meret
  • Alisson Santos

are also ruled out of the trip to Florence, stripping options from back to front. Defensive rotations, midfield balance, even the goalkeeping hierarchy – all of it is being stretched.

Napoli arrive in Tuscany with confidence restored but resources depleted. The question now is whether that hard-earned win over Bologna becomes a turning point in their season, or just a brief pause in a campaign overshadowed by injuries.
