Liverpool Receives Boost as France Forward Cleared to Start
Liverpool have been handed a major boost at Anfield with their France forward cleared to start the Premier League clash, just days after cramp forced him off in the second half of Wednesday’s win over Atletico Madrid.
Any lingering concern from midweek has been swept aside. He leads the line from the first whistle.
Around him, though, the team shifts. Ryan Gravenberch, Kostas Tsimikas and Victor Munoz are all drafted into the XI, with Milos Kerkez, Alexis Mac Allister and Rio Ngumoha making way. Fresh legs, different angles, a slightly altered rhythm for a demanding home fixture.
Cody Gakpo is back in the matchday squad after his recent fitness issue. Not rushed, but ready. He starts on the bench, an option to change the picture later in the game if needed.
Liverpool line-up: Alisson; Van Dijk, Jacquet; Wirtz, Szoboszlai, Isak; Tsimikas, Munoz, Barcola, Araujo, Gravenberch.
Anfield expects. The squad looks strong. Now it’s about what they do with it.
