Randal Kolo Muani Undergoes Successful Hand Surgery

Randal Kolo Muani has undergone successful surgery on a hand fracture suffered in Juventus’ 2-0 win over Atalanta, but the striker is expected back in training within days.

The French forward picked up the injury during an accidental collision in the Serie A clash at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on Sunday night. Tests later revealed a fracture of the proximal phalanx in his hand, forcing Juventus’ medical staff to opt for surgery.

The operation, an osteosynthesis procedure, was carried out on Monday at the J|medical centre in the club’s Continassa complex, with specialist De Loris Pegoli performing the intervention.

Juventus confirmed the surgery went as planned and that Kolo Muani’s recovery timetable is short. He is set to resume training after a couple of days and should remain at Luciano Spalletti’s disposal during the upcoming international break, limiting the impact of the setback on the Bianconeri’s attacking plans.

Kolo Muani, who joined from Paris Saint-Germain, has started his Juventus career with one goal and two assists in six competitive appearances this season. Now he faces a brief pause, a protective hand, and then the task he came to Turin for: turning a promising start into a decisive season.
