Federico Dimarco Returns to Training with Bandaged Knee

Federico Dimarco stepped back onto the training pitch with Inter this morning, but all eyes were on his right knee.

The Italy international worked with the rest of the squad on the eve of Inter’s Champions League opener against Real Madrid, yet did so with his knee heavily bandaged after the knock he picked up against Napoli.

Dimarco had been forced off during Inter’s 3-2 win over Napoli on Saturday, leaving the pitch with what was later described as a mild knee sprain. The issue was not serious enough to keep him out of today’s session, but the visible protection on his right leg underlined that he is far from at full ease.

Inter are due to fly to Spain this afternoon ahead of tomorrow’s group-stage clash at the Bernabéu, a marquee start to their 2026-27 Champions League campaign. Whether Dimarco is on that plane, or simply travels without being risked from the start, is still unclear.

Coach Cristian Chivu is expected to clarify the situation later today during his press conference in Madrid, when he will provide the latest on Dimarco’s condition and confirm his squad list.

For now, Inter’s left flank hangs on that bandaged knee.
