Arsenal Injury Update: Arteta Comments on White and Mosquera Ahead of Brighton Clash

Mikel Arteta has given a fresh update on the fitness status of some key Arsenal players as they prepare to take on Brighton in the Premier League this weekend.

The Gunners remain unbeaten this season after securing a 2-0 victory over Sunderland last week. They also advanced to the fourth round of the EFL Cup by defeating Ipswich Town 4-2, despite making extensive changes to their squad for that match.

Returning to league action, Arsenal face a Brighton side coming off a remarkable 3-2 comeback win against Manchester United at Old Trafford, adding extra challenge to the fixture before the international break.

Saliba Still Out, Mosquera and White Progressing

France defender William Saliba has not yet appeared this season due to a back injury sustained during the World Cup. He remains absent from training and is set to miss Arsenal's upcoming game and international duty with France under Zinedine Zidane.

Arteta also provided news on defenders Cristhian Mosquera and Ben White, who have both missed recent matches because of injuries.

"[White] All good. We have another training session. Yeah, we have another session, and they [Mosquera] are willing to be part of it, so we will see."

Meanwhile, Piero Hincapie and Jurrien Timber, who did not feature in the midweek cup tie against Ipswich, are expected to be available for selection, though they might start on the bench.

Injury Details and Expected Returns

  • William Saliba: Back injury - Expected return on 21/11/2026
  • Cristhian Mosquera: Thigh injury - Expected return on 19/09/2026
  • Ben White: Groin injury - Expected return on 19/09/2026
  • Piero Hincapie: Injury unknown - Expected return on 19/09/2026

Significance of Ben White’s Return

Ben White has been a regular fixture at right-back this season, especially as Jurrien Timber recovers from a previous injury. White’s presence has been vital, contributing defensively and linking up well with forward Bukayo Saka, aiding the team's attacking dynamics.

With Timber still regaining full fitness, White’s availability offers Arteta a natural and reliable option for tough matches. His return also allows Ezri Konsa and Gabriel to continue their partnership in central defense, providing stability to Arsenal's backline.
