Ties in group standings follow a strict order of resolution: points in matches among tied teams, goal difference, and goals scored in those matches. If still unresolved, overall goal difference and goals scored come into play, followed by fair play records based on cards received. Lastly, FIFA rankings decide ties if all else fails.
