Premier League Transfer Spending and Net Spend in 2026-27

The 2026 summer transfer window in the Premier League is well underway, and clubs are actively investing in new talent. So far, spending has surpassed £1 billion with several weeks remaining before the window closes.

Tottenham Hotspur leads the outlay, having spent nearly £230 million to strengthen their squad after a tough season battling relegation. Their key signings include Sandro Tonali for £92.5 million, Mateus Fernandes at £85 million, and Jan Paul van Hecke for £52 million, along with some free transfers. Some of these deals have also weakened their Premier League rivals.

The largest single transfer so far involves Manchester City, who paid £116 million to Nottingham Forest for Elliot Anderson, a standout performer for England during the World Cup.

Brighton and Hove Albion have also spent over £100 million this summer, though part of that was a swap involving centre-backs with Tottenham: selling Van Hecke for £52 million and buying Luka Vuskovic from Spurs for £50 million.

On the sales front, Chelsea has joined Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United as clubs recouping more than £100 million through player sales. Chelsea sold Marc Cucurella and Andrey Santos for fees exceeding £50 million each, with Santos moving to Manchester United.
