Liverpool's Pursuit of Bradley Barcola Takes New Turn

Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola has moved into a new phase, with Paris Saint-Germain now prepared to consider offers below their original sky‑high valuation, according to reports in France.

The Premier League club have already started reshaping their attack for life after Mohamed Salah. Victor Muñoz has arrived from Osasuna, while centre-backs Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes and Ronald Araujo from Barcelona have strengthened the spine. The search for wide firepower, though, has never really stopped.

Liverpool initially explored a deal for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, only to discover the player favoured a move to either PSG or Real Madrid. That setback forced a change of plan. Attention turned quickly to Barcola, the France international who has slipped down Luis Enrique’s pecking order at the Parc des Princes.

For weeks, Liverpool and PSG have been locked in talks, with the Ligue 1 champions initially signalling they wanted around £130m (€152m) for Barcola. It looked like a hard line. Now it sounds more flexible.

PSG soften stance on Barcola fee

French outlet Jeunes Footeux report that PSG have effectively lowered their demands, with Liverpool being handed what is described as a “gift” in the market.

“For a long time, PSG reportedly set the bar at a minimum of €150 million,” the report states. “But the Parisian club’s latest signings could change things. Paris is now said to be willing to listen to an offer between €130 and €140 million. A relative discount, but one that confirms the immense value placed on Barcola by the Parisian management.

“A small gesture that will prompt Liverpool to step up their pursuit of Barcola? It’s not impossible. But one thing is certain: PSG are under no obligation to sell, and will definitely refuse to be more ‘generous’.”

So the door is open, but only just. PSG’s stance is clear: they are ready to talk, not to fold.

Romano: Liverpool “pushing” as talks hit crucial stage

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has echoed that sense of movement, suggesting the deal is now entering a decisive stretch with Liverpool firmly at the table.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano highlighted the absence of both Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye from PSG’s matchday squad as a key sign.

“For Paris Saint-Germain in terms of Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, both of them not even on the bench. What does it mean guys?

“The expectation is for both of them to go because Paris Saint-Germain up front already have Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ferran Torres, Mika Goots and Maghnes Akliouche – six fantastic players and in this moment the expectation is for Barcola to go and for Mbaye to go.

“Liverpool are negotiating for Barcola. Liverpool are confident for Barcola. Liverpool are pushing for Barcola.

“I expect this deal to accelerate. Now we enter from Monday into crucial stages of the story. So the negotiations will continue but Liverpool have a verbal agreement, of course on personal terms with Bradley Barcola and Liverpool want to accelerate. So deal absolutely on.”

A verbal agreement on personal terms, a softened stance from PSG, a winger short in the post-Salah era – all the pieces are on the table.

Now it comes down to one question: will Liverpool go high enough, and fast enough, to pry Barcola out of Paris?
