Lamine Yamal’s World Cup Glory Interrupted by Break-In Attempt
The night that should have belonged entirely to football glory brought an unwelcome jolt of reality for Lamine Yamal and his inner circle.
Only hours after helping the National Team book their place in the World Cup final, the young Barça star became the target of an attempted break-in at his home in Esplugues de Llobregat in the early hours of the morning.
It happened at around four o’clock. The house was quiet; the celebrations were taking place elsewhere. On the security monitors, though, there was movement.
Private security staff, hired by the player, spotted two figures in balaclavas scaling the wall of the property. No hesitation, no confusion: the intruders were clearly preparing to force their way in.
The reaction was immediate. Once the masked men realised they had been seen, the tension of the moment snapped. They abandoned the attempt, turned, and fled into the darkness, disappearing from the area before they could be intercepted.
The security team did not treat it as a scare and move on. They quickly alerted the Mossos d'Esquadra, who in turn activated the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC). Detectives have already taken charge of the case, which is being treated as an attempted burglary with force.
On the pitch, Lamine Yamal’s rise has felt almost unstoppable. Off it, this episode is a stark reminder that fame brings a different kind of pressure, one that now sits squarely in the hands of the investigators tasked with finding out who came calling in the night.
