Gavi shared two images illustrating his path: one from his early days at La Liara Balompie in his hometown and another of him kissing the World Cup trophy. Alongside these pictures, he wrote, “May no one wake me from this dream – the dream of a boy from Los Palacios who dreamed of winning the World Cup with his country…”

He also spoke candidly about the setbacks he faced, including injuries, and how every challenge felt worth it as he celebrated his achievement at such a young age.

Gavi made sure to thank those who helped him develop, from his family and friends to his first club, Real Betis. His message reserved special praise for FC Barcelona and La Masia, the famed academy that nurtured his talents.

He wrote, “I owe a great deal to everyone at La Masia who welcomed me from day one, and to the coaches and staff at FC Barcelona, who helped me grow as a footballer and as a person, and enabled me to become a world champion.” He also gave a personal shout-out to his grandmother for providing extra strength in recent months.

Though not always in the starting lineup, Gavi played a role whenever called upon by Spain’s coach Luis de la Fuente. He logged 76 minutes during the competition, starting the match against Cape Verde and coming off the bench in the knockout round win over Austria.
