Dario Osorio: Europe's Hottest Young Forward in Demand

Dario Osorio has gone from quiet prospect to one of the most hunted young forwards in Europe this summer – and the queue at FC Midtjylland’s door is getting longer by the day.

The 22-year-old Chilean, a left-footed winger who usually starts on the right, has drawn concrete enquiries as the transfer window ticks into its final, frantic stretch. Liverpool, Everton and Leeds United are all tracking him. AC Milan are still firmly in the conversation, with interest from both Denmark and Italy confirming the Serie A giants have not stepped back. Arsenal, too, have been on the scene for some time, having first flagged their admiration last summer and kept him under close watch since.

Midtjylland’s technical director has already acknowledged that several Premier League clubs are running detailed checks on Osorio. They have every reason to. Since arriving from Universidad de Chile in 2023, he has accelerated through the Danish Superliga, producing 23 goals and 18 assists in 117 games and forcing his way into regular selection for Chile, where he has already collected 25 caps.

Clubs like what they see: pace, direct running, comfort on either flank and that sharp, left-footed edge that has inevitably drawn comparisons with Alexis Sanchez. Inside Midtjylland, those traits have hardened the belief that they can demand a serious fee.

The Danish club have set their stall out. Osorio is valued at around €20million (£17.1m / $23.4m), and they are ready to listen to offers that meet that figure. Lower bids have already been turned away. With English and Italian sides circling, Midtjylland are quietly hopeful that a bidding battle will nudge the price higher.

Behind the scenes, the expectation is clear. Coaches and directors at the club have indicated they anticipate losing Osorio and another key forward before the window shuts, describing at least one sale as “almost inevitable”. No formal bid has yet been accepted, but the volume and profile of interest suggest that stalemate will not last long.

Where he lands is the real intrigue. The Premier League offers pace, exposure and money. Serie A offers tactical schooling and a different kind of spotlight. Those close to the situation see a player ready for a step up either way.

Liverpool’s need is obvious. Their search for wide options has already taken them to targets such as Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, with plans to add potentially two new wingers. Osorio fits the age profile, the intensity and the resale logic that has shaped their recent recruitment.

Across Merseyside, Everton are also pushing for width before the deadline. The club retain an interest in Jack Grealish, while Como winger Assane Diao features on their shortlist. Osorio, too, has been seriously considered by David Moyes’ side as they look for a dynamic wide forward who can change the tempo of games.

Leeds remain in the mix, Arsenal have not walked away, Milan are lurking, and Midtjylland are ready to deal at the right number.

The battle for Dario Osorio is no longer about who spots him – it is about who moves first, and who is willing to pay the price.
