Chelsea Set £60 Million Price Tag for Nicolas Jackson Amid Interest from Spurs and Villa

Chelsea have put a £60 million price tag on Nicolas Jackson as Tottenham and Aston Villa circle, with the fee emerging as the major stumbling block to any deal.

The 25-year-old striker is back at Stamford Bridge after a productive loan at Bayern Munich, where he hit 11 goals in 34 games last season. Bayern had an option to make the move permanent for €65m (£55.5m) but walked away at the end of the campaign, leaving Jackson’s future in London to be decided.

Xabi Alonso, now in charge at Chelsea, has been handed the final say on what happens next. For the moment, the club and head coach are prepared to cash in – but only on their terms. According to RMC Sport, Chelsea have made it clear they want £60m, a figure that has already started to shape the market around the player.

Spurs and Villa are both monitoring the situation, each in need of attacking depth as they gear up for another long season. Atletico Madrid have also joined the chase, sensing an opportunity if Chelsea soften their stance. Right now, that valuation is doing the heavy lifting. The fee has been described as the “main obstacle” to any agreement and is slowing negotiations before they can truly get going.

The tension around Jackson’s status was visible at the weekend. He was left out of Chelsea’s squad for their final pre-season friendly, a 3-1 win over Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge, a clear signal that his place in Alonso’s plans is far from secure.

Chelsea have already moved to reshape their forward line. Danny Welbeck has arrived from Brighton in a £5m deal, a low-cost addition who offers Premier League experience and versatility across the front. With Welbeck through the door and Jackson on the market, the club’s striking department is being aggressively trimmed and rebuilt.

Jackson is not the only forward in the shop window. Liam Delap is also available, and like Jackson, he played no part in the Real Sociedad game. Chelsea are open to offers and have set their asking price at around £40m, having paid £30m to sign him from Ipswich Town last year.

There is firm interest from abroad. Serie A side Como, managed by Cesc Fabregas and already home to former Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, have made an approach for Delap as they continue their ambitious recruitment drive. Yet the 23-year-old is in no rush to leave England. His preference is to stay in the Premier League, which adds another layer of complexity to any move.

So Chelsea stand at a familiar crossroads: two saleable strikers, three serious suitors for one of them, and hard valuations that will test how desperate Europe’s contenders really are for goals. The window is ticking down. Who blinks first – the buyers, or a club determined to hold its line on price?
