Valencia Negotiates Loan for Harvey Elliott from Liverpool
Valencia are in negotiations with Liverpool over a loan move for midfielder Harvey Elliott until the end of the season, as the Spanish club push to strengthen before the window shuts.
The 23-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, struggled to make an impact in the Premier League there, starting just once in the league. Now he could be heading to La Liga, with Valencia exploring a deal they can afford.
Valencia finished ninth in La Liga last season and missed out on European football, leaving them operating under tight financial constraints. They are working on a structure that would see Liverpool pay around half of Elliott’s wages to make the move viable.
Elliott had a prominent role in Liverpool’s pre-season under new head coach Andoni Iraola, featuring regularly and appearing to be part of the plans. Then the competitive action started, and the picture changed. He has been left out of Liverpool’s first two Premier League squads of the campaign, opening the door to a late move.
Time is now a factor. La Liga’s transfer window closes on Tuesday at 23:00 BST, giving Valencia and Liverpool a narrow window to turn talks into a completed deal.
