Details of the Two Rule Changes
- Yellow card accumulation: Players will now face suspension after receiving four yellow cards instead of three, meaning they can stay on the pitch longer before serving a one-match ban.
- Stadium clock display: UEFA has lifted the long-standing restriction that prevented clocks from showing time beyond 45 and 90 minutes during matches. Now, stadium clocks can display continuous playing time, not just the base 45 or 90 minutes plus added time. This change aligns with a similar adjustment made in the Premier League two years ago.
The new regulation states: "The added time for each half must be indicated by the additional minutes, and not as continuous playing time (i.e., 45 + x, 90 + y). The same applies in extra time (105 + x, 120 + y)."
