Transfer Update: Coventry Faces Hamer Valuation Hurdle, West Ham Targets Former Spurs Striker

Coventry City is in ongoing discussions with Sheffield United to bring midfielder Gustavo Hamer back to the club. The 29-year-old made 132 appearances over three years before his 2023 move to Sheffield United. According to Sky Sports News, a major sticking point remains the clubs’ differing views on Hamer’s value as he enters the final year of his contract.

If Coventry can settle on a fee with the Blades, Hamer is ready to return and play Premier League football again, something he hasn’t done since the 2023-24 season.

West Ham Pursues Troy Parrott

West Ham United, currently in the Championship, is interested in signing former Tottenham Hotspur forward Troy Parrott. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo wants to boost the squad’s attacking options to push for immediate promotion back to the Premier League.

The Daily Mail reports that West Ham shifted their focus to Parrott after failing to sign Sunderland’s Wilson Isidor. Parrott has impressed during two seasons at AZ Alkmaar, scoring 51 goals in 96 appearances.

Competition for Parrott includes Como from Italy, Spain’s Real Betis, and Dutch clubs PSV Eindhoven and Ajax. While some suitors offer Champions League football, West Ham hopes an £18 million bid will secure his signature.

Florentino Luis Set to Join Ipswich Town

In the Premier League, Ipswich Town is close to signing Florentino Luis from Burnley. After a loan spell last year, Florentino joined Burnley permanently this summer. But with Burnley relegated, Ipswich and Hull showed interest.

Hull had been negotiating a loan deal but lost out as Ipswich aims for a permanent transfer reportedly worth around £16 million, per Sky Sports News. Florentino passed his medical on Monday and is expected to join manager Gary O'Neil’s squad soon.

The 26-year-old will strengthen a midfield already including Azor Matusiwa, Marcelino Nunez, Jack Taylor, and Cameron Humphreys.
