Tottenham Signs Omar Marmoush from Manchester City

Tottenham hit the panic button – and reach for Manchester City’s bench.

Less than 24 hours after a bruising 3-0 defeat at Brentford on the Premier League’s opening weekend, Spurs have moved aggressively in the market, lining up a second attacking signing from the champions.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reported on Sunday that Tottenham and City have agreed a deal worth €60 million for Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush. The former Eintracht Frankfurt striker is expected in London on Monday to undergo his medical and put pen to paper.

It’s not an isolated move. Spurs are already closing in on Savinho from City in a separate transfer believed to be worth around €100 million, a double swoop that would radically reshape Ange Postecoglou’s front line.

One heavy defeat has clearly sharpened minds in north London. Now Tottenham are about to find out if raiding City’s depth can close the gap to the very top.
