Tottenham Pursue Gakpo as Arsenal Targets Osimhen

The market is starting to bite. Big names, big fees, and some very big calls on the horizon.

Spurs move on Gakpo

Tottenham Hotspur have made their move for Cody Gakpo, formally registering their interest with Liverpool as they explore a deal for the Dutch forward, according to Voetbal International’s Joost Blaauwhof.

Gakpo is coming off his leanest season since arriving at Anfield, finishing last term with nine goals in all competitions for Liverpool. The numbers dip at club level contrasts sharply with his work on the international stage: three goals in four games for Netherlands at the 2026 FIFA World Cup reminded everyone of the damage he can still do in the final third.

He is 27, tied down at Liverpool until 2030, and nowhere near the end of his prime years. That contract length gives Liverpool leverage. Spurs’ interest, though, signals intent. They want a forward who can both score and drift between lines, and they’ve now kicked off the process to see whether Liverpool are prepared to listen.

Arsenal and Osimhen: talks begin

Up the road in north London, Arsenal have opened discussions with Galatasaray over Victor Osimhen, the Daily Telegraph reports.

The talks did not start with the Nigeria international. Arsenal and Galatasaray were already in negotiations over possible moves for Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri to the Turkish club when Osimhen’s name came up. It is not yet clear which party floated the idea or how far the conversation will go, but Arsenal’s admiration for Osimhen is long-standing.

Galatasaray’s stance is already being tested. Florian Plettenberg reports that the Turkish champions have rejected a €130 million offer from Al Hilal for the striker. That figure underlines the level of financial muscle Arsenal would be competing with if they decide to push.

Nwaneri, meanwhile, has interest of his own. Gazzetta dello Sport reports that AC Milan are also targeting the 16-year-old, adding another layer to what is quickly becoming a complex web of negotiations.

Koundé on the market?

Jules Koundé’s future at Barcelona is back under the microscope. Mundo Deportivo reports that the club could sanction a sale this summer if a suitable offer arrives in the final weeks of the window.

Nothing is guaranteed, but the report is clear on one point: an exit cannot be ruled out for the France international. Koundé, 27, made 47 appearances for Barça last season and has long attracted attention from the Premier League. Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool are among the clubs credited with interest.

If Barcelona decide they need a major sale to balance their books or reshape the squad, Koundé is one of the few assets capable of generating a significant fee.

Chelsea line up Wharton and Scott

Chelsea are preparing for life with or without Enzo Fernández.

TEAMtalk reports that the club have identified Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton and AFC Bournemouth’s Alex Scott as potential summer targets and have already made contact over both players. Chelsea are weighing up replacements in case Enzo leaves, with the Argentina international linked with a move to Manchester City and a Friday deadline said to be in place for any possible exit.

Fresh approaches for Wharton and Scott have followed those developments. Inside Stamford Bridge, there is a belief that a deal for at least one of them is realistic.

Milan ready for a clear-out

AC Milan are braced for a busy end to the window. Sky Italia reports that the club could move on as many as eight players as new head coach Ruben Amorim reshapes his squad.

Among the key names mentioned are Fikayo Tomori, Christopher Nkunku, Santiago Gimenez, Pervis Estupiñán, and Youssouf Fofana. The message is blunt: nobody in that group is guaranteed to stay if the right offer comes in.

Milan have already brought in reinforcements, including Gonçalo Ramos and Mario Gila, and Amorim now wants the squad to reflect his style and priorities. That means exits — and potentially a lot of them.

Barcelona push for Rodri

At the very top of the market, Barcelona are not backing down in their pursuit of Rodri.

A source has told ESPN that Barça will return with a renewed offer for the Spain international as negotiations with Manchester City continue. City value the 30-year-old at more than €70 million, with Barcelona’s latest package expected to land in that region.

It is an audacious move, financially and sportingly. Rodri is central to everything City do. If Barcelona are to prise him away, they will need to hit that valuation and convince both club and player that a new era at Camp Nou is worth the gamble.

Arsenal eye Quansah

Arsenal’s defensive rebuild is also taking shape behind the scenes. Sources have told ESPN that the club have added Bayer Leverkusen’s Jarell Quansah to their shortlist of options at the back.

No direct talks have yet taken place between the clubs. Instead, Arsenal have explored the framework of a potential deal through intermediaries as they assess how best to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s defensive unit.

Ferran Torres set for PSG

One deal is much closer to the finish line. Barcelona forward Ferran Torres is on his way to Paris Saint-Germain after the clubs reached an agreement in principle worth around €50 million, a source has confirmed to ESPN.

The transfer is expected to be completed in the coming days. Torres is due in Paris for a medical before signing with the European champions, adding another versatile attacking option to PSG’s front line.

Other deals on the boil

Arsenal are keeping a close watch on the situation around Julián Álvarez. TEAMtalk reports that the Gunners are in regular contact with both Atlético Madrid and the player’s representatives as they monitor his unresolved future.

In Italy, Juventus have changed course in their search for a goalkeeper. After dropping plans to bring in Zion Suzuki on loan once he joins PSG, the club are now working on a loan deal for Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Back at Barcelona, right-back Hector Fort has been told he is free to leave this summer, Sport reports. The 20-year-old has interest from Liverpool, Everton, and Fulham as Premier League clubs look to snap up a young full-back with top-level schooling.

Arsenal are also close to landing one for the future. The Athletic reports that the club have reached an agreement to sign Liverpool academy striker Vincent Joseph. Talks are now focused on a settlement between the two clubs for the 16-year-old, who made two appearances in the under-18 Premier League last season.

Leeds United are moving too. Florian Plettenberg reports that the club have agreed personal terms with Borussia Monchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi on a contract until 2029 and are preparing an opening offer. Elvedi previously played under Daniel Farke, a link that could prove decisive.

In Germany, Bayer Leverkusen have rejected a €20 million bid from Premier League side Ipswich Town for midfielder Exequiel Palacios, Plettenberg adds. Leverkusen consider the valuation too low, even though the 27-year-old is keen on a move to England this summer.

And in France, Marseille have made an opening offer for Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, according to Footmercato. Nelson has just one year left on his deal, and while this first proposal is expected to be turned down, the Ligue 1 club are ready to come back again.
