San Diego FC Signs Experienced Striker Cedric Bakambu from Real Betis

San Diego FC has confirmed the signing of veteran striker Cedric Bakambu, who joins from Real Betis on a free transfer. The 35-year-old forward has agreed to a deal that runs through the 2026 season, with options to extend into 2027 and 2028.

Starting his career at Sochaux, Bakambu has scored 191 goals and provided 49 assists across 492 professional appearances. His clubs have included Villarreal, Marseille, Olympiacos, and Galatasaray. Internationally, he has netted 21 goals in 72 appearances for DR Congo, participating in four Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.

His addition strengthens a forward line that already features Anders Dreyer, Marcus Ingvartsen, and fellow 2026 World Cup player Elias Achouri.
