San Diego FC Sign Veteran Striker Cedric

San Diego FC have moved to sharpen their cutting edge in front of goal, unveiling veteran striker Cedric as the latest addition to their attack.

Sporting director Tyler Heaps framed the signing as a statement of intent, hailing the Congolese forward’s pedigree and mentality.

“Cedric brings an incredible level of experience and proven quality to San Diego FC,” Heaps said in the club’s official announcement, stressing the calibre of the club’s new arrival. “He has built an outstanding career competing at the highest levels in Europe and internationally, and his ability to consistently find the back of the net has been a defining part of his game. He understands what it takes to perform on the biggest stages and brings a winning mentality that will be extremely valuable to our group.”

From his breakthrough at Sochaux to spells with Villarreal, Marseille, Olympiacos, and Galatasaray, Cedric has put together a body of work that commands respect. Across 492 club appearances, he has scored 191 goals and supplied 49 assists, numbers that underline both his ruthlessness in the box and his ability to link play.

His record with DR Congo adds another layer. Seventy-two caps, 21 international goals, and four Africa Cup of Nations tournaments on his résumé mark him out as a player accustomed to pressure and big occasions.

Heaps underlined the broader impact of the move as well. “We’re thrilled to welcome Cedric and his family to San Diego and look forward to seeing him make his mark with our club,” he added, pointing to the leadership and experience expected in the dressing room as much as on the pitch.

Cedric now steps into a frontline already loaded with talent. Anders Dreyer brings creativity and goals from wide areas, Marcus Ingvartsen offers versatility and movement, and fellow 2026 World Cup forward Elias Achouri adds pace and direct running.
