The situation around Rodri’s future took a sudden twist as he looks to accelerate his departure from the Etihad Stadium. Although his holiday officially ended this Thursday, he has sought an exemption to avoid returning to training on Friday morning, according to SPORT. This move resembles the approach taken by Ferran Torres during his transfer to PSG, where Barcelona allowed him time off as negotiations finalized.
Rodri is keen to complete his return to La Liga but wants to keep things professional. He understands that missing training could be viewed as defiance and insists he will only stay away with Manchester City’s approval.
Barcelona’s Offer Rejected Again
Despite Rodri’s wishes, Manchester City remain firm. The club has already declined multiple offers from Barcelona. The latest improved bid, estimated at around €60 million, was also rejected by the Etihad hierarchy, who are unwilling to drop their asking price even though Rodri has just one year left on his contract.
