Real Madrid Pursues 15-Year-Old JJ Gabriel Amid Legal Dispute
Real Madrid are pushing hard to prise 15-year-old forward JJ Gabriel away from Manchester United’s academy in a move that has already turned into a legal and political tug of war.
The teenager has formally notified United that he intends to cancel his registration with immediate effect, according to MyJoyOnline. United, though, are not accepting that without a fight and insist his registration remains valid until the end of the season.
For now, Gabriel is not training with the club. He turns 16 on October 6 and holds a European Union passport, a detail that could prove decisive.

Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern are all tracking the forward. Chelsea are also understood to hold strong interest. Multiple sources describe Real Madrid’s pursuit as “active”, with the Spanish giants determined to move first and fastest.
Madrid’s plan is bold: bring Gabriel in as soon as possible and slot him straight into Real Madrid Castilla, their reserve side competing in Spain’s regionalised third tier against adult opposition. It would be a steep learning curve, but also a clear, visible pathway.
United under scrutiny over pathway promises
Inside Gabriel’s camp, there is growing frustration. People close to the player believe Manchester United have failed to deliver on promises about his route to the first team.
