Luis Campos Confirms PSG Transfer Window Activity Amid Liverpool Interest in Barcola and Mbaye

PSG's Transfer Window Remains Active, Says Luis Campos

Paris Saint-Germain sports advisor Luis Campos has confirmed the club's transfer window is still very much open as the September 1 deadline nears. Despite rumors linking attackers Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye with moves to Liverpool, PSG are actively exploring both incoming and outgoing options.

Campos Issues Market Update

Speaking openly to the media about PSG's transfer plans, Campos said the club is ready to make moves if the right chance arises. He referenced last year's late signing of goalkeeper Gigio Donnarumma by Manchester City to highlight how busy the final days can be. Campos stated, "The transfer window is far from over, it's still open. Between now and the end, on the arrivals side, if we find a good opportunity, we'll take it. It's like that every year."

Liverpool's Interest in PSG Attackers

Liverpool have targeted both Barcola and teenage winger Mbaye as manager Andoni Iraola seeks to strengthen his squad at Anfield. Barcola impressed in his breakthrough season with PSG, quickly gaining a reputation as one of Europe's most exciting wide forwards. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Mbaye has earned praise for his swift rise through PSG's academy, attracting attention from several Premier League clubs looking for young attacking talent.

Neither Barcola nor Mbaye featured in PSG's recent Ligue 1 opener against Rennes, which ended in a 2-2 draw. They were also absent from the squads for the Trophée des Champions loss to Lens and the UEFA Super Cup win over Aston Villa.

PSG Hold Firm on Player Plans

Despite ongoing speculation about a potential double transfer to Liverpool, PSG remain determined not to sell either player lightly. Head coach Luis Enrique values Barcola as an integral part of his squad, and the club views Mbaye as a crucial prospect. When questioned about their futures, Campos was noncommittal, saying, "You mentioned (Bradley) Barcola and (Ibrahim) Mbaye, we'll see what happens."

Negotiations with Liverpool continue, with the English club having already seen a bid for Barcola rejected. Further offers for the French forward are expected, and talks over Mbaye are also underway. PSG reportedly want around €70 million for Mbaye, a figure Liverpool are not prepared to meet currently.

Looking Ahead for PSG

PSG will focus on improving their start to the season while continuing their transfer activities before the window closes. In Barcola's absence, they lost the French Super Cup to Lens and drew 2-2 with Rennes in their Ligue 1 opener. Their next league game is against Lille on August 28.

With Campos steering the club's transfer dealings, PSG seem set to stay active in the market and resist Liverpool’s efforts to acquire Barcola and Mbaye until the deadline passes.
