PSG Pulls Out of Zion Suzuki Deal, Juventus Seizes Opportunity

Paris Saint-Germain have dramatically pulled the plug on a move for Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, just days after Juventus had already walked away from a carefully constructed three-way operation.

The French champions were set to sign the Japan international from Parma in a deal worth around €35 million including add-ons, before immediately sending him on loan to Juventus for the coming season. The structure was in place, the roles were clear. Then the whole thing started to unravel.

Juventus were the first to slam the brakes. Frustrated by delays and the conditions attached to the loan, the Bianconeri turned their attention to alternative targets and stepped back from the agreement, leaving PSG to press on alone with the permanent transfer.

For a short while, it looked as though the Ligue 1 side would still close the deal. Multiple reports say the clubs were ready to exchange documents and had even moved to schedule the medical. Everything pointed towards a routine finish.

Instead, the talks collapsed.

According to transfer specialists Fabrice Hawkins and Fabrizio Romano, Suzuki’s agents made an additional request at the last moment, a demand that infuriated PSG and triggered an immediate change of stance in Paris. The club responded by withdrawing from negotiations entirely, with no sign they intend to return to the table.

The sudden U-turn leaves Suzuki in limbo and Parma still holding a valuable asset, while the market clock keeps ticking.

It also cracks open a small window for Juventus. With PSG out, the Bianconeri could now try to negotiate directly with Parma for the 22-year-old, cutting out the previous loan arrangement. The obstacle is obvious: the cost that scared them off the first time has not gone away.

If Juventus want Zion Suzuki now, they may have to pay the full price.
