Newcastle to Pay €11 Million for Matthias Jaissle's Transfer from Al-Ahli
Reports reveal that Newcastle United has finalized the payment to Saudi club Al-Ahli to secure the services of their German coach, Matthias Jaissle. The move will see Jaissle replace Eddie Howe as Newcastle's head coach next season.
Compensation Details and Contract Length
Trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano shared via X that Newcastle will pay around 11 million euros in compensation to Al-Ahli. Jaissle is set to arrive at Newcastle this Saturday to be officially announced as the club’s new sporting director. He will sign a four-year contract lasting until 2030.
Previously, Jaissle had been close to signing a contract of similar length with Al-Ahli. However, negotiations broke down due to his request for a clause guaranteeing full payout if he were dismissed, which the Saudi club declined.
Jaissle's Achievements at Al-Ahli
Jaissle took over at Al-Ahli in 2023, succeeding South African coach Pitso Mosimane. Over three seasons, he led the team to two AFC Champions League Elite titles and secured the Saudi Super Cup, ending a nine-year drought for the club.
