This late surge comes as Massimiliano Allegri looks to reshape an attack that has felt uncertain and short of clarity, both in output and in depth. Napoli’s hierarchy see the young Spaniard not as a gamble, but as a piece they can build around – someone who can help immediately and grow into a long-term pillar of the squad.

Guiu’s situation at Stamford Bridge has only sharpened that conviction.
