Monaco Signs Four Academy Prospects to Professional Contracts

Monaco have moved quickly to lock down a new wave of talent, handing first professional contracts to four standout prospects from their academy, including two highly rated Morocco youth internationals.

The club announced on Tuesday that Safouane Benzahra, Nahil El Haddani, Nejd Ajroud and Melvin Gomes Da Veiga have all signed deals running until 30 June 2029, a clear signal of long-term faith in the 2008-born quartet.

All four were key figures in Monaco’s under-19 side, which battled its way to the semi-finals of the French league last season. Their performances did not go unnoticed. Rival clubs circled, scouts took notes, and the pressure on Monaco to act grew.

The club’s response was decisive.

Benzahra, already a Morocco youth international, has taken the first step through the door. He has made his competitive debut for the first team, featuring in the French league clash with Paris Saint-Germain – a statement appearance for a teenager still finding his way in senior football.

El Haddani, another Morocco youth international, joins him on the long-term plan, alongside Tunisian-French midfielder Ajroud and versatile talent Da Veiga. All three trained with the senior squad during pre-season under Filipe Luís, a spell that accelerated their rise and confirmed they were ready for more than just youth-team football.

French outlet Foot Mercato underlined that momentum, noting it had already reported last week that the four youngsters were poised to step up after their integration into Filipe Luís’s group over the summer.

For now, Ajroud, El Haddani and Da Veiga remain on the pathway, pushing towards a full first-team breakthrough. Benzahra has already shown it can be done. The contracts are signed. The window is open. Now comes the hard part: turning promise into regular Ligue 1 minutes.
