Millwall Set £15m Price for Femi Azeez as Brighton Pursues Transfer
Millwall have slapped a £15m price tag on winger Femi Azeez as Brighton push to get a deal done before the transfer window closes.
The south-coast club, whose interest first emerged via BBC Sport, have already tested Millwall’s resolve twice in recent weeks with bids totalling just over £10m. Both have been knocked back. The gap is clear: Brighton are still around £5m short of what Millwall want.
Azeez is understood to be keen on the move to the Amex Stadium and a shot at Premier League football. For now, though, he waits.
Millwall’s stance is firm but not immovable. The south London side are prepared to let the Nigeria international take the next step in his career, but only if their valuation is met. Until then, they are holding their line.
The situation has already left its mark on team selection. Azeez has been omitted from Millwall’s last three matches, despite a standout campaign last season in which he scored 11 goals and provided 11 assists in 35 league games. That form earned him a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Year and pushed his stock sharply upwards.
It also underlined the scale of Millwall’s potential profit. They signed Azeez from Reading in 2024 for around £1m, and he is now into the final 24 months of his contract. Sell now and they cash in at peak value. Hold on and the clock keeps ticking.
There is interest closer to home in the Championship too. Wrexham are believed to have joined the chase, but a Premier League move remains Azeez’s priority, and Brighton see him as one of their leading targets heading into Tuesday’s deadline.
The numbers are on the table. The player wants the step up. The only question now is whether Brighton are willing to bridge that £5m gap before the window slams shut.
