Milan Target Zakaria El Ouahdi for Defence Reshape

Milan have turned their attention to Morocco international Zakaria El Ouahdi as they look to reshape the right side of their defence this summer.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Rossoneri are closely studying a move for the Genk full-back, viewing him as a potential replacement for Atekami, who is on the verge of joining Olympique Lyon.

Born in 2001, El Ouahdi has already drawn serious interest across Europe. PSV Eindhoven were previously linked with the defender, with several reports in recent weeks highlighting coach Peter Bosz’s strong push to bring him to the Eredivisie.

Genk, though, are standing their ground. The Belgian club value the Moroccan at between 13 and 15 million euros and are not showing any willingness to drop that price or rush into a sale.

Milan have not yet submitted an official bid, but the interest is described as concrete rather than exploratory. If the deal progresses, El Ouahdi could become the second major Genk talent to secure a high-profile move this summer, following Konstantinos Karetsas’ transfer to Borussia Dortmund for around 35 million euros.
