Premier League Midfielder Hints at Dream to Return to Real Madrid
Real Madrid is expected to pursue a new midfielder in 2027 after missing out during this summer's transfer window. The team, managed by Jose Mourinho, has struggled to maintain control in some matches, prompting club officials to plan for strengthening the midfield.
Failed Attempts and New Targets
The club previously attempted to sign Enzo Fernandez and Rodri, but both moves fell through—Fernandez was too expensive, and Barcelona secured Rodri. Now, Real Madrid is considering fresh options, possibly including a player with past ties to the club.
Chema Andres: A Familiar Name in the Mix
Chema Andres left Real Madrid for Stuttgart in the summer of 2025. After a successful year in Germany, he moved to Brighton and has made a strong start in the Premier League. He shared with Diario AS that returning to Real Madrid is a dream for him, even if it isn’t something he is actively pursuing right now.
"Real Madrid? I hope to come back in the future, but I’m not thinking about it right now."
Challenges in Re-signing Andres
If Real Madrid decides to bring Andres back, it won’t be straightforward. The club lost any control over his future when he transferred from Stuttgart to Brighton. This means they’d have to pay full price to acquire him from the Premier League side, known for holding firm on their star players.
For the time being, Real Madrid will likely keep a close watch on Andres’s performances. If he continues to impress at Brighton, he could easily find himself on the club’s shortlist for next summer’s transfer plans.
