Michele Di Gregorio Joins Bournemouth from Juventus

Michele Di Gregorio has swapped Turin for the south coast, joining Bournemouth from Juventus on a paid loan that could turn into a permanent move worth close to €13m plus add-ons.

The transfer was confirmed by both clubs on Tuesday morning, wrapping up a deal that gives Bournemouth a goalkeeper with top-level pedigree and Juventus more clarity in their summer reshuffle between the posts.

The deal: structured gamble for Bournemouth

Bournemouth will pay €1.3m for a one-year loan, with a further €800,000 tied to performance-related bonuses. If all goes to plan, they can keep him.

The agreement includes an option to buy at the end of the season for €12.7m, spread over three financial years, with up to €1.5m in additional bonuses. For a club that has chosen to grow through smart, targeted investment, it is a calculated bet on a keeper who has already shown he can handle pressure.

“Michele is a goalkeeper with excellent qualities and valuable experience at the highest level,” said Bournemouth director Tiago Pinto. “He has consistently demonstrated his ability in Serie A and in European competitions, and we believe he will be an excellent addition to our squad.”

Juventus move on from a reliable No.1

Di Gregorio leaves Juventus after two seasons in which he became a steady presence. He conceded 84 goals in 84 matches and recorded 36 clean sheets, numbers that underline both his workload and his reliability.

His time in black and white included Serie A battles and Champions League nights, such as the trip to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid, where he shared the stage with the elite of European football.

Juventus, though, have chosen a radical reset in goal this summer. Di Gregorio’s departure comes as part of a broader shake-up that has also seen Mattia Perin sent to Serie B side Palermo, a clear sign the club is reshaping its goalkeeping hierarchy for the long term.
