The Barcelona youngster, on the fringes under new boss Hansi Flick, has drawn serious interest from no fewer than five English clubs as the Catalan giants look to cash in. For much of the summer, the smart money had Casadó heading to Saudi Arabia. The offers were there, and the pathway looked clear. But the player’s stance has complicated that script. The response has been swift. According to Mundo Deportivo, citing TEAMtalk, several Premier League sides have already made contact to check on Casadó’s situation, with one club stepping to the front of the queue.

Nottingham Forest are currently leading the race. The Midlands side, constantly reshaping and refreshing their squad since returning to the top flight, see an opportunity to add a young, technically polished midfielder schooled at Barcelona. They are not alone.

Aston Villa, with European football on their plate, have joined the chase. Newcastle, building depth for another push towards the top end of the table, are also in the conversation. Brighton, always alert to undervalued talent on the continent, are in the mix too, while Sunderland – pushing hard to climb back to the Premier League – are monitoring the situation from the Championship.

Barcelona’s stance is clear. They want a significant fee and are aiming to bring in around €40 million from Casadó’s sale. For a player not in Flick’s immediate plans, that figure would represent valuable financial breathing space as the club continues to wrestle with economic constraints.

So the picture is set: a La Masia product eager to prove himself at the highest level, a cluster of English clubs circling, and Barcelona waiting for someone to meet their price.
