Raum stays on INEOS radar
Manchester United’s search for a left-back has not moved far from David Raum. The RB Leipzig defender, who has just one year left on his contract in Germany, remains on the list of options being assessed by INEOS’ recruitment team, according to TeamTALK.
United’s need on that flank has been clear for some time, and Raum’s situation – short contract, Champions League experience, attacking profile – keeps dragging his name back into the conversation at Old Trafford. No bid yet, no breakthrough, but he has not been crossed off.
McCoist pushes surprise shout: Junior Kroupi
While United weigh up defensive reinforcements, Ally McCoist has thrown a more adventurous idea into the mix.
The former Scotland international believes Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi is ready to step up to a Champions League-chasing club – and he namechecked Manchester United as exactly that kind of move.
Speaking to talkSPORT Bet, McCoist acknowledged how bold that sounds given Bournemouth’s rise: the Cherries have beaten Arsenal at the Emirates and Newcastle at St James’ Park, and Kroupi is currently sidelined with a pre-season injury. Even so, McCoist insisted the forward “absolutely would not look out of place at a team like Manchester United” and described him as a “smart signing”.
Kroupi is expected to be out for some time, but McCoist’s message was clear: United should at least “test the waters”.
Feyenoord circle for Chido Obi
While potential arrivals are debated, one of United’s brightest youngsters could be heading out to find minutes elsewhere.
Chido Obi, signed from Arsenal in 2024, is attracting interest from Feyenoord. The Danish forward has made only a handful of first-team appearances and has struggled to convince Michael Carrick he is ready for a regular role in the senior side.
Reports in the Netherlands say Feyenoord are keen on taking Obi on loan, sensing an opportunity to offer him the game time he is unlikely to get at Old Trafford in the short term. For United, a temporary move could be a straightforward way to protect his development without cutting ties.

The Dutch striker wants to leave Manchester United before Tuesday’s deadline, with The Daily Mail reporting that he expects a move to be sealed before the window shuts.
Zirkzee arrived in 2024 with genuine excitement around his potential, but the leap many anticipated has not materialised. He is not part of Carrick’s plans, and the club are now open to a deal that suits all parties.
