Manchester United Set to Sign Sweden Winger Monica Jusu Bah

Manchester United are set to make Monica Jusu Bah the latest piece of their summer rebuild, having agreed terms to sign the Sweden winger from BK Häcken.

The 23-year-old is expected to complete the move before next Thursday’s Women’s Super League transfer deadline, with only final formalities standing between her and a first crack at English football.

United will have to pay for the privilege. Jusu Bah signed an extension with Häcken in September 2025 and is contracted there until 2028, so the deal involves a transfer fee, though the figure remains undisclosed.

This is not a gamble on potential alone.

Jusu Bah has spent her entire career in Sweden, breaking through at Umeå before earning her move to Häcken in 2023. In May, she played her part as Häcken lifted the inaugural Women’s Europa Cup, adding European silverware to a growing résumé.

Her rise has been mirrored on the international stage. She has already made 11 appearances for Sweden and featured in all six of their Women’s World Cup qualifying matches this year, underlining her status as a regular part of the national setup rather than a fringe option.

For United, this is unlikely to be the final move of the window. The club are understood to be pushing to bring in at least one more signing before the deadline as they try to sharpen a squad that has already seen significant change.

Defender Andrea Medina has arrived from Atletico Madrid, while goalkeeper Janina Leitzig has joined from Leicester City, strengthening the spine of the team.

Now comes Jusu Bah, a wide player entering her prime, carrying European experience and international minutes. The question is no longer whether United are rebuilding — it is how quickly this new-look side can turn that ambition into trophies.
