Manchester City Signs Lille's Ayyoub Bouaddi for €100m

Manchester City have reached an agreement in principle worth 100m euros (£86m) to sign 18-year-old Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, underlining just how aggressively they are rebuilding the heart of their team.

Talks between the clubs accelerated in recent days, with BBC Sport revealing earlier this week that negotiations were at an advanced stage for the Morocco international. Those discussions have now produced a deal, leaving Bouaddi poised to complete his long-anticipated move to England.

The teenager is set to join Enzo Maresca's squad as one of the centrepieces of City's midfield overhaul. With Rodri and Tijani Reinders both sold, City have turned central midfield into a priority area, moving quickly to secure one of Europe's most highly rated young operators.
