Liverpool Scouts Watch AZ Alkmaar's Kees Smit Amid Transfer Buzz

Liverpool’s recruitment team have taken a close look at one of Europe’s newest midfield prospects, with AZ Alkmaar’s Kees Smit coming under heavy Premier League surveillance.

The 20-year-old Netherlands midfielder, rated at around £51.5m, was watched by Liverpool scouts during AZ’s Europa League clash with Sunderland this week, with several English clubs packed into the stands. Chelsea, Tottenham, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are all tracking Smit’s progress as his reputation continues to rise.

Tottenham move to the front for Arthur Dias

While Liverpool weigh up a move in midfield, Tottenham are pushing hard at the other end of the pitch. Spurs are leading the chase for 19-year-old Brazil defender Arthur Dias of Athletico Paranaense, who is valued at about 30m euros.
