Liverpool Pursues PSG's Bradley Barcola as Deadline Approaches
Liverpool’s chase for Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola is turning into one of the window’s late sagas, with the deal expected to go right up to the deadline, according to The Athletic.
The 23-year-old France international has emerged as Liverpool’s priority to strengthen their wide attacking options before the summer window shuts. He is the player they want. The one they are pushing for.
There is, though, a major problem: the price.
PSG are holding firm and demanding around €170m for the former Lyon winger, a figure that currently sits well above Liverpool’s valuation. The gap between the two clubs remains significant, and neither side has blinked yet.
Liverpool have already tested PSG’s resolve. An opening offer of €115m was rejected by the Ligue 1 champions, who see Barcola as a premium asset and are prepared to drive a hard bargain.
The pressure has not cooled Liverpool’s interest. Far from it. The Premier League club are expected to return with a new proposal that edges closer to PSG’s asking price as the clock ticks down on the window.
Amid the stand-off, Barcola’s stance is clear. According to L’Équipe, the forward is confident he will secure a move to Anfield before the window closes and believes a breakthrough can still be found despite the current stalemate.
Liverpool want him. PSG want top dollar. Barcola wants the Premier League. Something has to give before the window slams shut.
