Liverpool Close In on PSG Wingers Ibrahim Mbaye and Bradley Barcola in Major Transfer Push

Liverpool has reportedly agreed personal terms with Ibrahim Mbaye as part of a potential double transfer deal involving Paris Saint-Germain's rising stars. The Reds are pushing forward to secure both Mbaye and Bradley Barcola, aiming to strengthen their squad with youthful pace and talent.

Mbaye Agrees to Five-Year Contract

The 18-year-old Senegal international winger has reached an understanding on financial terms for a five-year deal at Anfield, according to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins. Mbaye is seen as a key target for head coach Andoni Iraola, who wants to add speed and youth after recently signing Victor Munoz from Osasuna.

Despite interest from German club Bayer Leverkusen, Mbaye prefers the Premier League. Last season, he made 29 appearances under Luis Enrique, scoring three goals but struggled for consistent playing time behind stars like Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Barcola Bid Raised to €135 Million

Alongside progress with Mbaye, Liverpool has increased its offer for Barcola to €135 million. The 23-year-old French winger has been a long-term target, and this improved bid signals Liverpool's determination to meet PSG’s high valuation.

The club has been cautious about overspending, especially after paying a record £125 million for Alexander Isak last summer. However, with investment from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos changing the club’s finances, Liverpool is now adopting a more aggressive transfer strategy. They await a final decision from PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi as this major transfer saga nears its end.

Luis Enrique Keeps Future Plans Quiet

PSG manager Luis Enrique has remained reserved regarding the futures of Mbaye and Barcola. Both players were excluded from the squad for the Trophees des Champions loss to Lens, despite being substitutes just days before in the UEFA Super Cup win over Aston Villa. When asked about their status, Enrique simply stated he would comment on transfers once the window closes, then left the press conference.

PSG Undergoes Squad Changes

The possible exits of Mbaye and Barcola come during a wider reshuffle at PSG. The club has signed young talents Ferran Torres from Barcelona and Mika Godts from Ajax, signaling a shift toward rebuilding the squad.

Liverpool sees a chance to capitalize during this transition, especially following the departure of Mohamed Salah. The Reds are eager to reinforce their team before the transfer deadline.
