Juventus Signs Davide Marchisio to Professional Contract

Juventus have moved decisively to secure one of the most closely watched talents in their academy, tying Davide Marchisio to his first professional contract, a deal that runs until 2028.

The surname jumps off the page. The story, though, is very much his own.

Born on August 31, 2009, the young midfielder has climbed methodically through the Bianconeri ranks, his rise built on long training days and a reputation for relentless application rather than family legacy. Inside the club, the contract is being viewed as a reward for work done in the shadows at Vinovo, not a courtesy to a famous father.

For Davide, a lifelong attachment to the Old Lady turned the signing into something more than a formality. It was personal. Emotional. A boyhood dream converted into a signature on Juventus letterhead.

He let that feeling spill out on social media after the agreement was made official, writing: “Proud to have signed my first professional contract with the team I've dreamt of and loved since I was a child. I will continue to work with great ambition and a desire to improve, giving my all for these colours. Fino alla fine.”

Behind the scenes, Claudio Marchisio has played a different role to the one that made him a hero in midfield. As a father, he has tried to insulate Davide from the weight of expectation, offering calm guidance and perspective while the teenager charts his own route through the academy.

That path has gathered pace. Before cementing his place as an Under-18 regular, Davide made 23 appearances and scored three goals at Under-17 level, including a standout strike in the Derby della Mole that turned heads inside the club. The performance did not go unnoticed.

The reward came at Continassa. Late last season, Luciano Spalletti invited the youngster into first-team training sessions, handing him a first real taste of senior intensity and the standards required at the top.

This year, the responsibility has increased again. Davide has already etched his name into a small chapter of academy history, scoring the newly formed Under-18 side’s first-ever goal earlier in the campaign. Juventus expect him to be a central figure at that level across a demanding domestic season.

Now comes the real test: consistency. The club see a clear route towards Juventus Next Gen, but only if he strings together performances, copes with the physical grind, and keeps adding layers to his game week after week.

First-team staff will track his progress closely through the autumn, paying particular attention to how his body and technique respond to the step up. The plan is gradual, the ambition anything but.
