Juventus Sign Kamil Grabara as Goalkeeper
Kamil Grabara has completed his move to Juventus, becoming the second goalkeeper to arrive in Turin on loan in a matter of days as the Bianconeri rip up and rewrite their plans between the posts.
For too long, the position has been a nagging issue. Luciano Spalletti made it clear this summer that it had to change. He wanted a new number one and pushed the club to act.
That process began with a reshuffle. Michele Di Gregorio was moved out, agreeing a loan switch to Bournemouth. In his place, Juventus brought in Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham, also on loan, handing the Italian the gloves as the new first choice.
A Chain Reaction in Goal
Just as Juventus seemed to have settled on Vicario as their man, the market shifted again. Palermo came in for Mattia Perin, and the experienced backup accepted their proposal, leaving Spalletti suddenly short of cover.
Juventus went back in. This time to Wolfsburg, freshly relegated from the Bundesliga, to secure Grabara on a loan deal. The Polish keeper arrives as the designated number two, at least on paper.
But that status is not set in stone.
Grabara Ready to Push Vicario
Inside the club, there is a clear expectation: Vicario starts the season as the main goalkeeper. Yet Grabara has been brought in with more than just a bench role in mind. If he outperforms the Italian in the coming weeks, he will give Spalletti a real decision to make.
Competition is exactly what Juventus have been missing in this area. The coaching staff see this overhaul as essential to stabilising a position that has too often looked uncertain in recent campaigns.
Grabara now steps into one of the most demanding roles in Italian football. He must adapt quickly, prove his reliability, and at the same time push Vicario every day in training. For Spalletti, that battle can only be healthy.
Depth, Flexibility and a Point to Prove
Both deals being loans gives Juventus something they have lacked in recent years with their goalkeepers: flexibility. If this new tandem works, they have a platform for the future. If it does not, they are not locked into a long-term mistake.
For now, the equation is simple. Vicario holds the shirt. Grabara wants it. Spalletti finally has options in a position that has forced too many compromises.
The question now is not whether Juventus have changed their goalkeeping department. It is how far this reset can carry them in a season where every save, every mistake, could shape their ambitions.
