Juan Bezerra Transfers from Zamalek to Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai

Juan Alvina Bezerra’s stay at Zamalek lasted just one season. It ended with a statement, a plane ticket, and a clear decision from all sides: it was time to go.

Zamalek’s board, headed by Hussein Labib, announced on Saturday that the club had reached a final agreement for the Brazilian’s transfer to Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai in the UAE, confirming the deal after all the conditions set at the start of the summer negotiations were met.

The move had been brewing for weeks. Bezerra skipped Zamalek’s pre-season preparations and stayed away from early matches, making it clear he wanted out during the current summer window. That stance left him on the fringes just as the new campaign was beginning, his future hanging in the balance while the team moved on without him.

He returned to Cairo last Saturday, rejoining the environment he had stepped away from, but only as a stopover. The Brazilian pushed for a fresh challenge, and talks with Shabab Al-Ahli accelerated, edging closer to completion with every day that passed.

Zamalek then granted him permission to travel to the UAE to undergo his medical, a decisive step that signaled the end of any lingering doubts. Once the tests were done, the White Castle simply had to make it official. The club’s statement drew a line under the story: Bezerra was no longer a Zamalek player.

On the pitch, his single season in Egypt had real weight. Bezerra featured in 44 matches across all competitions, scoring 8 goals and supplying 12 assists. At his best, he stitched attacks together, produced standout performances, and dragged Zamalek through key moments in multiple tournaments.

His contributions helped the club lift the Egyptian Premier League title last season, his first and only trophy in the famous White shirt. Then, almost as quickly as he had arrived, the journey ended—on his own request.
