Jérémy Doku Signs New Five-Year Contract with Manchester City

Jérémy Doku has nailed his colours to the Manchester City mast, signing a new five-year contract that could keep him at the Etihad until 2032.

City confirmed on Tuesday that the winger has agreed fresh terms running to 2031, with an option for an extra year. It continues a summer of renewals in Manchester, with Doku following Phil Foden, Josko Gvardiol and Abdukodir Khusanov in committing long term.

Doku, 24, became a key part of Pep Guardiola’s attacking rotation last season. He featured 47 times in all competitions and finished the campaign with eight goals, his direct running and one‑v‑one threat giving City a different edge in the final third.

While one future is now secure, another remains wide open.

Reijnders talks with Saudi Arabia

Sources have told ESPN that City are in negotiations with Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiah over a deal for Tijjani Reijnders. Discussions are described as active, with the proposed package worth more than £50 million.

No agreement has been reached yet, but the numbers underline how quickly Reijnders’ value has risen. City signed the midfielder from Milan last summer for £46.5m, and he went on to make 47 appearances across all competitions in his debut season in England.

City are braced for movement in midfield before the window closes. According to sources, the club intend to replace any central midfielder who departs before the deadline, rather than simply shrinking the squad.

That stance matters, because the biggest question of all still hangs over Rodri.

Rodri and Barcelona: a saga building

Inside the club, there is a growing acceptance that Rodri is likely to join Barcelona. The Spanish side have already tested City’s resolve twice and been rebuffed twice.

Barça’s second bid, worth £55m, has been rejected. City value the midfielder at more than £60m despite the fact he has only a year left on his contract, and they have shown no willingness so far to soften that position.

For now, Doku is locked in, Reijnders is in talks, and Rodri sits at the centre of a tug of war between champions of England and giants of Spain.

If City do lose their midfield anchor and another engine in Reijnders in the same window, those new long-term deals out wide might be the only calm in what could become a turbulent reshaping of Guardiola’s core.
