Ismael Saibari Joins Bayern: Embracing a New Era

At his unveiling as Bayern’s latest attacking recruit, Ismael Saibari wasted no time spelling out why he has thrown himself into the club’s new era under Vincent Kompany.

“Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world,” he said, the backdrop of the Allianz Arena making the point for him. “They've given me the confidence that I can develop as a player and person here.”

For Saibari, it is not just the badge or the trophies. It is the way Bayern play – and the way he believes he can grow inside that system. He spoke with clear admiration about the tempo and aggression that defined the side last season.

“They play with a lot of movement and high intensity. I saw that myself last season,” he explained. “They play very good football, it's always intense, they always look for finishes. I like that a lot.”

That relentlessness suits his own game. A natural No. 10 with the engine to press and the technique to unlock defences, Saibari arrives as a flexible piece for Kompany’s evolving puzzle.

Asked where exactly he fits into the new coach’s tactical blueprint, he admitted those talks are still to come.

“I haven't discussed it [position] in detail with the coach. I've been focusing on my injury and comeback. We'll definitely talk about it soon,” he said.

What he did make clear is where he feels most at home.

“My favourite position is the number ten, everyone knows that. But I can play in several positions, we always switch around during games anyway. I can also play out wide and a bit deeper.”

That versatility will matter. Kompany wants fluidity between the lines, constant rotation, constant options on the ball. Saibari sounds ready to embrace that chaos, wherever he is asked to start.
