Inter Sells Matteo Motta to Pescara, Pursues Luca Reggiani

Inter have moved on one of their own and immediately tried to bring another Italian home – only to run into a firm German refusal.

The club have officially sold left-back Matteo Motta to Pescara, inserting a 50 per cent sell-on clause into the deal. Motta, 21, leaves after coming through the Nerazzurri’s academy and spending last season on loan at Lumezzane, but without a single competitive appearance for the senior side.

Pescara, currently in Serie C, pick up a young full-back with room to grow. Inter, by holding half of any future sale, are clearly betting that his value will rise away from San Siro.

While one youth product departs, Inter are pushing hard to land another Italian prospect – this time from abroad.

According to Bild, the Nerazzurri have again contacted Borussia Dortmund to ask about 18-year-old central defender Luca Reggiani. The Italian is no stranger to Serie A eyes: he came through the Sassuolo academy before moving to Dortmund in February 2024, a switch that has rapidly transformed his profile.

In Germany he has accelerated. Reggiani broke into the first-team picture at Dortmund and climbed so quickly that he earned a senior Italy cap in June 2026, still only 18. For a defender, that kind of rise does not go unnoticed in Milan.

Inter’s interest has been persistent, but the response from Dortmund is clear. The report in Germany suggests the Bundesliga club have no intention of letting him go, especially after recently extending his contract. They see him as a key piece for the future, not a saleable asset.

So Inter bank a future percentage on Motta and circle Reggiani from a distance. The message from Dortmund, though, is blunt: if the Nerazzurri want this particular Italian talent back in Serie A, they will have to wait – or pay a price that finally changes German minds.
