Inter Celebrates at Gran Gala del Calcio as Dimarco Wins Player of the Year
Inter turned the Gran Gala del Calcio into their own celebration, walking away with the Serie A Club of the Year award and a stack of individual honours that underlined their dominance of the campaign.
At the heart of it all stood Federico Dimarco. The wing-back, a symbol of Inter’s relentless rise, was voted Serie A Player of the Year by his fellow professionals – the most telling recognition a footballer can receive.
“It’s unique,” Dimarco said, the trophy in his hands and the season’s work behind him. “Last year I set the assist record, and this season I want to improve even further.”

Dimarco’s turning point: Paris heartbreak

“My breakthrough? It all started after the lost Champions League final against PSG, which pushed us to give our absolute maximum,” he explained.
That night, the pain of watching Paris Saint-Germain lift the trophy became fuel. Since then, Dimarco has sharpened his game, especially in the final third, where his delivery and decision-making have turned him into one of the league’s most decisive wide men.

Dimarco revealed that, despite his rise and this latest accolade, talks over a new deal with Inter have not even begun.
“Renewal? Unfortunately, we haven’t spoken about it,” he admitted. “I hoped it would happen after last season’s performance.”
It was a blunt admission on a night built around celebration. The contrast was striking: the league’s best player, by his peers’ vote, still waiting for the club’s formal move.
Eyes on Napoli, not on the stage
Dimarco did not linger on the uncertainty. His mind, he insisted, is already shifting back to the pitch and a fixture that has frustrated Inter for too long.
“Now I want to remain focused on the match against Napoli,” he said. “We haven’t been able to win against them for too long.”
