Hansi Flick's Bold Barcelona XI Against Elche CF
Hansi Flick has wasted no time shaking up Barcelona.
For his first competitive XI of the season, against Elche CF this evening, the German coach has gone bold, leaving Alejandro Balde, Marc Casado and Hector Fort out of the squad entirely and doubling down on some eye-catching calls in his starting lineup.
Espart thrown straight in, Cancelo waits
The headline decision comes at left-back. Xavi Espart, tipped earlier in the day to start, does indeed get the nod. The youngster steps straight into the back line, while new signing Joao Cancelo must settle for a place among the substitutes.
