Galatasaray Rejects €130m Bid for Victor Osimhen
Galatasaray have turned down a staggering €130m offer from Al-Hilal for Victor Osimhen, sending a clear message to Saudi Arabia’s big spenders: their star striker is not for sale.
The Saudi Pro League club lodged the verbal bid on Wednesday through intermediaries, testing Galatasaray’s resolve with a nine-figure proposal. It went nowhere. According to Sky Sports, the Turkish champions swiftly informed Al-Hilal they have no intention of entering talks over a deal this summer.
No haggling. No counter. Just a flat refusal.
Osimhen has become the heartbeat of Galatasaray’s attack since arriving from Napoli on an initial loan in 2024. His impact has been ruthless. Fifty-nine goals in 74 games for the Istanbul giants have turned him into the face of their title defence and the symbol of their ambition.
That loan was converted into a permanent move last summer for a Turkish transfer record of €75m, a fee that underlined how heavily Galatasaray were prepared to invest in the Nigerian forward. A year on, that investment is paying off so handsomely that even €130m is not enough to tempt them.
Al-Hilal’s long chase hits a wall
This is not a new obsession for Al-Hilal. They have tracked Osimhen for a long time and came close to landing him before his switch to Istanbul. The Saudi club see him as the marquee No. 9 to lead a renewed push for domestic dominance.
Their timing tells its own story. Al-Hilal finished second in the Pro League last season, just two points behind champions Al-Nassr. The gap was tiny, the frustration huge. They want a finisher who can turn that narrow miss into a title in 2026/27.
The plan is clear: reshape the forward line. Darwin Nunez is expected to leave in the coming days, freeing up space and salary for a new attacking focal point. Osimhen sits at the top of that wishlist, the high-profile signing to spearhead a new cycle.
Al-Hilal have already flexed their financial muscle this window with a £60m deal for Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United. Add that to an attack that already includes Karim Benzema and Malcolm, and the intent is obvious. They want firepower, variety, and star wattage.
Yet even with that arsenal, they see Osimhen as the missing piece.
Galatasaray, though, see him as non-negotiable.
By rejecting €130m without opening the door to negotiation, the Turkish champions have drawn a line in the sand. For now, Osimhen stays in Istanbul, the centrepiece of a project that clearly values his goals more than any record-breaking cheque Saudi Arabia can write.
