Daisuke Yokota Set to Join Rangers
Rangers have reportedly finalized a deal to sign Daisuke Yokota from Hannover. The Scottish Premiership side started their 2026-27 season with a 1-1 draw at Dundee United, but the performance left much to be desired.
Despite that, Rangers have been busy in the transfer market, including signing a South African international who was part of Bafana Bafana's World Cup squad. This season is shaping up to be challenging as they aim to close the gap on their rivals Celtic, last season’s champions, and fend off competition from Hearts, who nearly claimed the title.
German transfer expert Florian Plettenberg reports that Rangers are about to complete the permanent signing of Yokota. The 26-year-old attacker contributed nine goals and assists across 30 matches in Bundesliga 2 last season. The agreed fee reportedly includes an initial £3 million plus add-ons and a sell-on clause.
Yokota is expected to travel to Scotland on August 4 for a medical and to finalize his contract with Rangers.
Freddie Potts Leaves West Ham for Club Brugge
West Ham United are preparing for their first season back in the Championship in 15 years after finishing 18th in the Premier League. The club has confirmed that midfielder Freddie Potts has left East London, moving to Belgian champions Club Brugge for an undisclosed fee.
Potts, 22, joins Brugge as they gear up for European competition following their 2025-26 Belgian Pro League triumph. This guarantees them entry into the group phase of the Champions League, ensuring at least eight matches in UEFA’s top tournament.
West Ham continue to see departures this summer, with Potts following the sales of Matheus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville to Tottenham Hotspur and Al-Hilal respectively. Nevertheless, club captain Jarrod Bowen remains committed to the team for their Championship campaign.
Sunderland’s Stance on Wilson Isidor Transfer
Sunderland are aiming to build a squad capable of quickly returning to the Premier League. Their striker, Wilson Isidor, had a standout summer, representing Haiti in the World Cup and scoring a memorable long-range goal against Morocco.
Rumors suggested Sunderland might let Isidor leave this summer, possibly to West Ham. Yet, according to Sky Sports News, Sunderland intend to keep Isidor as part of manager Regis Le Bris’s plans. The club will need a strong squad to compete both domestically and in European competitions.
